Paediatrics
Paediatrics refers to the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care and treatment of infants, children and adolescents. There is a vast range of illnesses and diseases that the little ones go through that a paediatrician examines.
A paediatrician has a responsibility to cross-check the following with respect to children’s health :
- Perform medical exams
- Give vaccinations
- Know and compare the growth of a child in behaviour and skills
- Diagnose and treat a child’s health, illness and other health problems
- Guide about child’s health, nutrition, safety and fitness requirement
- Refer to a specialist if a child needs it
